While most to-do lists give you an overwhelming list of tasks that need to be completed without any visual references, TurboHog takes a different approach to show you how your week and day looks at a glance.
You can easily follow your day and progress to make sure things are getting completed on time, make adjustments, see meetings, and get a better understanding of your next day.
We built TurboHog to help those who want to visually see their week planned for them and not worry about a task list that never stops growing. TurboHog is built to adjust with you, your schedule, and everything that comes up unexpectedly.
Here's a guide to how the different components of TurboHog come together to show plan your week.
Every task in TurboHog is scheduled around events. They're a key part of every week, so tasks always slot in around events, so there's no overlap.
If you set an event to be ‘Busy,' TurboHog will not place tasks at the time of the event. However, if you mark an event as ‘Free,’ (like a sports schedule, keynote, etc.), TurboHog will continue to schedule your tasks during the event so you can keep working without interruption.
For events you create, you can change the status from ‘Busy’ to ‘Free’ and vice versa at any point to adjust how the tasks are scheduled around them.
If you have an all-day event, such as a birthday or launch day, it will appear at the top of the day below the date. All day tasks scroll with your day without ever getting in the way. You can quickly see them at a glance without being disrupted by them.
If you're invited to an event by another person, the invitation will display on the scheduled date. You can also view all invites in your ‘Inbox’ in the sidebar if you're unsure of the specific date. From either place, you can choose to set your status to “Accept,” “Reject," or “Maybe.”
Rejected events will be ignored by your schedule but still show up on the calendar. You can delete an event to fully remove it from your calendar.
Events that you accept will block tasks from being scheduled at the same time, unless the event is marked as ‘Free’ by the host.
When a calendar event has a meeting link included, you will see a ‘has video meeting’ notice when hovering over the event in your calendar.
You can click on an event with a meeting link to quickly copy the link or instantly join the meeting.
The Calendar automatically syncs to Google Calendar at regular intervals. However, if you need to manually sync your calendar to push/pull events, you can do so in the sidebar by hitting ‘Sync’ under the ‘+ Add’ button.
You can create a new event for your calendar with:
CMD/CTRL + Enter
Clicking “+ Add” in the sidebar
Dragging across the calendar in the time slow you want the event to be created in
When adding a new event, you can choose the calendar you want to use, set up a Google Meet link, and invite guests.
Tasks appear on your calendar similar to events. They key difference between events and tasks visually is that tasks have a circle to the left of the title allowing you to mark them off your list once completed.
Tasks also have a small circle in the top right corner indicating the schedule they're set in.
To mark a task off your list from the Calendar view, you can either click the circle next to the title of the task or open the task by clicking on it and clicking “Complete” in the bottom left.
When clicking on a task from the Calendar View, you're able to edit the task and all parameters within it as well.
By default, tasks automatically schedule on your calendar based on the parameters you set when creating it. If you want to lock a task in place on the calendar, you can drag it to the time you want the task to be done. This will lock in place and be indicated with a lock icon next to the task name.
To unlock a locked task, you can click on the lock icon when viewing the Calendar. You can also open the task and hit “Unlock” in the top right corner. This will reschedule your tasks based on the parameters set when creating the task.
Your calendar and tasks automatically refresh every so often in order to stay updated with the current time and schedules. If you ever need to manually refresh your tasks list to update to the current time, you can do so by hitting “Refresh” in the top of the sidebar.
if you're going to be unavailable for a day or a certain amount of hours during a day, you can use the Block feature on the Calendar to tell TurboHog not to schedule any tasks during that time.
To block out an entire day on the Calendar view, click the clock icon next to the date at the top. Select “Block out whole day,” and TurboHog will reorganize all of your tasks based on deadlines and priorities.
To block out a few hours of a day, click the clock icon at the top next to the date. Click “Block out hours,” and select the time you'll be unavailable that day. You can add multiple ranges to block out for a specific day as well.
If you find yourself needing to block the same day consistently, you can adjust the Schedule in your user settings to avoid scheduling tasks at those times moving forward.
You can hide the sidebar to view a larger version of the Calendar view by hitting the toggle button next to “Today” at the top of the calendar.
If you want to quickly get back to this week in the Calendar view, hit ‘t’ on your keyboard. You'll instantly be taken back to the current week.
Use the keyboard shortcut “CMD/CTRL + Enter” to quickly pull up the New Task/Event window.
Use the keyboard shortcut “CMD/CTRL + S” to save a new task or updates to a task.
You can change your project color by selecting a project in the sidebar and editing the project details.
You can change calendar colors by clicking on your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar and hitting “Settings.” Click “Calendar” and click on the color next to the calendar you want to change.
